Harry Potter & Imax

I must admit, I am disappointed.

After months of waiting, I finally got to watch at San Miguel's Imax Theater! I have heard so much about it. Actually, I've been to their website and have seen photos of its theatres abroad.

That's why I have been waiting for the perfect movie to watch in it eversince it opened almost two years ago.

Harry Potter & The Order Of The Phoenix was, for me, the movie I had been waiting for. I was expecting the movie to be as highly "energetic" and filled with action as the last one.

Well, that's two expectations gone puft! in mid-air. The problem with having expectations is you get easily disappointed. That's what I exactly got! Haha!

Oh well, in fairness, Harry Potter & The Order of The Phoenix was a very good sequel to the last movie. It was actually the perfect "next chapter" to the last one as here most of the characters have matured and a lot of questions in the prior movies have been answered and affirmed in it--but still leaving you to look forward to the "next chapter" in Harry's life with all the new questions J.K. Rowling wittingly left you with this newest film!

I guess I was just wrong in picking the movie to watch in Imax. The Transformers would have been a better movie for this gigantic theatre. There was only a few scenes in the Harry Potter movie that required you to wear the 3D goggles. So, there goes my P350! (Baka mas maganda pa kung sa Greenbelt 3 ka nanood! Hehe.)

As for Imax, the audio isn't that great as I have previously experienced in any Ayala Cinemas. More importantly, the said experience I encountered with their customer service staff (together with the other 50+ people who reserved to watch the first main feature of Harry Potter at Imax on its opening day last July 11) added to the disappointment I had with San Miguel's Imax Theatre at MOA!

Footnote: You can reserve slots at Imax via email and pay at any SM Cinema branches. The sad part comes when you claim your ticket at Imax. You're supposed to be there at least an hour before (no wonder!) the screening schedule to claim your ticket. What happened last Wednesday was that the person in charge was only arranging the tickets reserved by other excited folks like me days before July 11, such that we had to fall in line and wait for almost an hour after we have given our O.R. just for our name to be called. The Imax Admin's staff kept on going to and fro their Admin office and the "booth" outside it where folks who reserved their Harry Potter tickets waited. They will check inside the Admin office if our ticket was their then get back at the booth to check if it was among the tickets in the pile--there were a couple of instances when their staff at the booth will find the ticket among her pile after another admin staff just got back inside their office with the O.R. to check if the ticket was inside. In my case, my ticket couldn't be found because it hadn't been printed yet! Baloney! I got my ticket 2 minutes before the screening time (11:00 a.m.) started! Arggggghhhhhhh!!!! (By the way, they took my O.R. and didn't give it back! Wish someone from the BIR would get their nose on this! It's very SM for O.R.s not to be given for cinema transactions--sometimes even the ticket would be taken from you by the usherette when you're inside for them to "check" if you're in the right area of the cinema. Haha!)
